We had a great outing today leaving our hotel in two 4WD we travelled to spots around the town which is
Surrounded by steep rock cliffs and gorges with many colours in one view. Firstly we travelled to an old and small railway tunnel where to my excitement many beautiful parrots were nesting in the rock crevices above. Next we drove along an almost dry river bed to a point where a narrow passage between two cliffs stopped the traffic. We walked on from there through red cliffs with strange eroded shapes with only
Cactus and thorn trees on the sides.
Lunch was at a lovely spot by a river with even more cliffs. The area is popular for horse riding and
We saw a few along the way. The horses were very handsome too - no old nags here. After lunch some
Of our group did a horse ride and later a mountain bike ride down a steep hill. Me? I stayed in the truck and we drove to see a few more amazing rock features before being dropped back at the hotel around 3pm. The horse riding group didn't get back til almost 5 so I was pleased with my choice as I caught up a bit with emails and this B-blog.
